Writing compounded and non-compounded prescriptions

Updated 30 Oct 2026

In this article

Prescriptions are written from the Consultation screen (Alt+R) and go straight to the pharmacy queue when the visit is closed or the prescription is sent.

Non-compounded

  1. Search for the drug in the item list (by name or KFA code; KFA is the national drug and medical device dictionary). The stock available in the branch's pharmacy warehouse is shown.
  2. Enter the quantity and dosage instructions (signa), for example "3 × 1 after meals".
  3. Repeat for the other drugs.

Compounded

  1. Choose Compounded and give the compound a name (for example "Children's cough powder").
  2. Add the component drugs and the quantity of each component.
  3. Enter the number of sachets or capsules and the dosage instructions.

Warnings

  • A drug recorded as one of the patient's allergies triggers a prominent clinical warning.
  • Insufficient stock is shown; the doctor can still prescribe, and the pharmacist decides on substitution according to procedure.

Prescription status

Draft → Sent → Partially dispensed / Dispensed → (Cancelled). Once a prescription is sent, corrections are made by the pharmacist in coordination with the doctor.
