Recording allergies and reading allergy warnings

Updated 30 Oct 2026

In this article

The allergy status always appears in the patient banner as a chip in the clinical warning color. This color is reserved for allergies and clinical warnings.

Allergy status

Chip Meaning
Has allergies One or more active allergies are recorded
No known allergies Assessed; the patient has no allergies
Not assessed (gray, question mark icon) Never asked; ask during this visit

Recording an allergy

  1. On the Consultation screen, open the Allergies section.
  2. Enter the substance (a drug from the item list so it can be checked automatically, a food, or an environmental allergen), the reaction, and the severity (mild, moderate, severe).
  3. Save. The allergy is added to the patient's history and sent to SATUSEHAT (the Ministry of Health's national health data platform).
  4. If the allergy no longer applies, change its status to "resolved/inactive"; do not delete it.

Warnings when prescribing

When you write or prepare a prescription containing a drug recorded as an allergy, Medivana shows a prominent warning (not just a brief notification). Consider an alternative drug; if you still give it, record the reason.
